I don’t know who originally wrote this or I’d give credit where credit is due.  It was anonymous when I received it as an email forward from a friend.  I generally don’t use email forwards but this is not only telling of current societal and cultural issues but also sad and unfortunately right on the mark for many that are your basic salt-of-the-earth citizens.

I USED TO THINK I WAS JUST A REGULAR GUY, BUT …

I used to think I was just a regular guy, but …..

I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobic.

I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business.

I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby.

I am older than 60, which makes me a bit less than I used to be.

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual’s merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant.

Recently, a sick old woman called me and my friends “a basket of deplorables”.

I need to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, newfound challenges in my life and my thinking!

I just can’t imagine or understand what’s happened to me so quickly!

Funny . . . it’s all just taken place over the last 8 years!

And if all this crap wasn’t enough to deal with, I’m now afraid to go into either restroom!

The excerpt below was sent to me by a friend.  I share for 5 reasons:

  1. I live in California.
  2. I am a SMART woman, at least in my not-so-humble opinion.
  3. I have never voted for Dianne Frankenstein and never will.
  4. Yes, California seems to have a penchant for electing obnoxious and totally foolish women.
  5. My husband is from Maine (note the reference to Maine below).

Therefore … I offer the below idiocy.

*~*~*

Quote of the day by “Dianne Feinstein”:

Dianne Feinstein:  “All vets are mentally “ill” in some way and government should prevent them from owning firearms.”

Yep, she really said it in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee … and the quote below from the LA Times is priceless.  Sometimes even the L.A. Times gets it right.

Kurt Nimmo:  “Senator Feinstein insults all U.S. Veterans as she flays about in a vain attempt to save her anti-firearms bill.”

Quote of the Day from the Los Angeles Times:

“Frankly, I don’t know what it is about California , but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office.  I’m not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including  Maine, even comes close.  When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we’re Number One.  There’s no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on ‘Macbeth’.  The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab.

You don’t know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words.”

Columnist Burt Prelutsky, Los Angeles Times

I actually agree with the LA Times for a change.  That’s all I have to offer.

I’ve said this before, but I work in the government sector.  It’s not particularly my choice, but with the economy of the past few years and the crushing taxes put on private businesses, it’s what was paying the bills as we struggled to build our own private business.  I was tired of being laid off from “company jobs”.  After that happening 3 times in 5 years, I decided that I would work on my own business dream while holding down a government job.

Don’t get me wrong … I’m grateful that I have work.  I know that I do it well and I do it with care, offering good service to the State of California taxpayers.  However, the mentality of the majority of people that work in government jobs never ceases to not only amaze me but also to appall me.

Government agencies, in my maybe not-so-humble opinion, are bloated and supervisor-heavy.  Everyone wants a title.  No one wants to actually work.  Therefore, the vast majority of “managers” in government do not know how to manage work or supervise people.  They “manage by committee” and that mentality is ridiculous because no one knows how to make a decision.  Additionally, the majority of them attempt to squelch any initiative or ingenuity.  Everyone is expected to march in lock-step, so that when someone tries to take initiative or when they don’t fit into their little box (or is it “prison cell”) that they’re supposed to occupy or when something goes wrong with whatever program is being implemented, the workers (they’re the ones that are not part of the management “in club”) get thrown figuratively under the bus.  That mentality goes all the way up to the idiot White House Occupier, BO, who throws anyone under the bus he can, attempting to not take any blame for anything.

This of course happened to me very recently.  I took some initiative as instructed by management and was later batted down for it.  The problem for them with doing something like that to me … and with me in particular overall … is that I do not fit into their little box.  I have too many prickly edges to fit in a box.  Since I was little, I never adhered to the rule of there being a box that I was supposed to fit into.  If I was ever told that, I took whatever was handy to said box and knocked the box down.

So anyway, someone at my job tried to throw me under the bus.

Guess what?  They will feel the consequences.

… are stupid.

I don’t do them.

If I’m going to do something like get in better shape or lose weight like I did a few years ago, I’m going to decide what time is best for me instead of being one of the sheeple that go along with the crowd and make resolutions they won’t keep.

I think for myself and I decide for myself. To me, it’s more important to be me than to bow to societal pressure.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/533/39872677/files/2015/01/img_2375.jpg

I am quite confident in who I am.

I’m not aiming this at anyone in particular but if it strikes a nerve in you, look closely at what you’re doing and where your priorities lie. I’ve just noticed this about so many in this world that just want to “fit in” and “not rock the boat”. Do you want my opinion?

Bullshit!
Coward!
Sheeple!

It just never ceases to amaze me how many of the self-proclaimed “free thinkers” and “opinionated” people (no … call them what they are … SHEEPLE …) cave to what others think, do, and say, all for the purpose of “fitting in with the crowd”.

Guess what?

I’ll believe you when you stand behind your words and back up your beliefs.

If I think someone or something is wrong, I can be the only one stating it … but … if it’s wrong or against my beliefs … well, then, IT’S WRONG. I won’t change what I say or do just to stroke someone’s ego.

It is simply a matter of integrity and self-respect. Those are the most important things I’ve got. This has been why, even through the bad in life, I will find my way out.

Integrity

Self-respect

There.

I said it.

I meant it.

Can anyone tell me how many times something similar has been done to, say, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, or even Clinton or Carter with no reaction by *anyone* thinking anything other than it was a joke? People are too damn thin-skinned and overly sensitive in current culture.

Grow the hell up, people, and look at what is TRULY important in life.

Enough said.

Carry on, everyone.

Brilliant left wing strategy:

Divide and conquer.

The folks who are getting the free stuff don’t like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.  Then the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop but the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now … the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So … the people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this:  All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason?  The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 236 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff.  Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

For all of our sakes … please … TAKE A STAND!!!

Borders:  Closed!

Language:  English only

Culture:  God, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights!

Drug Free:  Mandatory Drug Screening before Welfare!

***ABSOLUTELY*** no “freebies” to Non-Citizens!

The once Great State of California, for whom I currently work, is truly on the brink of disaster.  It is overly taxed and overly regulated and not friendly to business or to entrepreneurs.  Is it any wonder so many people are now moving out of the once Golden State?  I am a 3rd generation California Girl … and I am truly ashamed of how it has turned into a welfare state.  It’s embarrassing as a citizen of this state and as an employee of this state.  People moved here for freedom and the chance of entrepreneurship.  It is being destroyed by regulation-happy liberals.  If this state is not to go to the same fate as the City of Detroit, people must stand up and do something rather than sit idly by.  My ancestors who gave so much to move here would be appalled by the “gimme gimme gimme” attitude of so many of the people living here now.  Oh, heck, Roy and I are appalled by the “gimme gimme gimme” mentality of today.

What ever happened to good old fashioned hard work and personal responsibility rather than depending on handouts?

work ethic

Those people that seem to think that Roy and I are “lucky” because we’ve managed to get somewhere in life need to understand that the only thing that we are “lucky” about is that our parents and grandparents instilled a WORK ETHIC in us.  We work *hard* for what we have managed to obtain … and we were knocked down many times.  We just chose to get back up and keep working rather than cry and whine and complain and say “no fair” like a little child and expect Big Daddy Government (aka BO) to give us food, shelter, clothing, phones, cars, etc.  We have self-respect.  We learned early that if you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day, but if you teach him to fish, he’ll be able to eat his entire life.  We’re proud that our parents taught us to FISH, so to speak, in this world.

So … when someone wants what we have … this is what we have and are willing to give them:

We’ll give you our work ethic.  We’ll teach you that.  Then you can better yourself without expecting someone else to take care of you from birth to death.  Learn to take care of yourself.

A work ethic is a wonderful gift.
